When the pandemic hit, there were many questions, concerns, and confusion in the community. My responsibility during this crisis was to work directly with departments to make sure we were keeping our constituents well informed and up to date with information from the CDC, local health departments, and other entities. Below are some examples of my work regarding the type of crucial information and available assistance.

With Houston having a diverse climate, it's local government entities' responsibility to keep their constituents up to date on road closures, weather updates, and more. My role in every weather emergency was to work directly with the City of Houston's Joint Information Center and other local officials to make sure our communication efforts were equal and accurate for our communities.

Whether it was for COVID-19, weather, or project updates, Commissioner Garcia has hosted various Tele-Town Halls to keep communities informed. My role as a Digital Media Specialist was to strategize promotion and event coverage for each Tele-Town Hall: live tweets, social media stories, and answering constituents' questions via direct messages online.
